Kitchen, Isanti
Set against a scenic landscape of agriculture and natural beauty, the house’s interior seemed at odds with its surroundings. The enclosed kitchen obstructed views, and the house felt dim and divided.
Moreover, the kitchen lacked a generous center island — a spot for prepping and sharing family meals and entertaining friends.
The redesigned and open main level — including the kitchen, dining area and living room — is the extra large entertaining space the family desired.
The range and vibrant limestone mosaic tile backsplash anchor one wall. Three artisanal sconces made of walnut and crystal draw the eye upward to the beamed and vaulted ceiling.
The impressive 13-foot tiered island features a quartz countertop with seamless waterfall edge.
At the opposite end of the kitchen, you’ll find the coffee station and nearby built-in bench seating. There’s even a pot-filler faucet for convenience. Retractable doors hide the coffee bar when not in use.
The space is an exercise in balanced contrasts. Warm, natural wood tones complement sleek quartz countertops. A clay-inspired textured tile backsplash adds depth and dimension.
The updated staircase has sleek metal cable railings for a fresh, modern look.
The main level feels bright and spacious. “We enjoyed working with Plekkenpol,” said the owner. “The remodel was a good experience! We love our new space.”
