The West Bloomington house with its large wooded yard had been a beloved family home for years.
When the owners were ready to sell it and move on in 2020, they were thrilled when their daughter and
her husband chose to purchase the house and keep it in the family.
The parents had used Plekkenpol Builders for a kitchen remodel in 1991, and a few years after that, to repair damage from a kitchen fire. When their daughter and her husband wanted to update their new home, they followed in her parents’ footsteps and once again contacted Plekkenpol Builders.
The goal was to create a more modern open kitchen and dining room with custom storage, updated appliances, plenty of counter space and a large center island, big enough for a family of seven. Though the space has been fully remodeled, the warm feel of the home is the same.
