2015 Robert L. Hanson Award

Plekkenpol Builders, Inc., President and Founder Craig Plekkenpol, was awarded the Robert L. Hanson Industry Service Award at the Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) Building Industry Gala on October 22.

The Robert L. Hanson Award recognizes the dedication and service of an individual who goes above and beyond, offering their time, energy and talents while serving at BATC, at state and national associations, and in the industry as a whole.

Craig has been an active member of BATC, the Builders Association of Minnesota (BAM), and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) since 1978. Plekkenpol has served in leadership positions including president of both BATC and the BATC Remodelers Council. He’s currently on the board of directors of BATC, NAHB, and The Builders Group, and was named life director of NAHB in 2013.

Craig is an advocate for the remodeling industry and has been actively involved in numerous committees and councils over the years, including BAM’s work with Cold Climate Housing and the BATC Builder License Task Force. Regarding the award’s namesake, Craig says: “Bob Hanson has been my inspiration and my mentor throughout my 37 years of involvement and service to our industry.”
